Activities
BBRFC was founded in 1968 as Brussels British Rugby Football Club, changing its name to Brussels Barbarians RFC in 2000 to reflect the many different nationalities (over 45 to date) playing for this very active expat sporting and social club. We currently have our Men's First team playing in the Belgian National Second Division, our Men's Second team in the Flemish Regional leagues, our Ladies team playing in the Belgian Women's League (Belgian Champions and Cup winners 2006) and a junior section affiliated to the British School of Brussels Rugby Teams. There are now over 50 clubs in and 10,000 people playing Rugby Union in Belgium.
BBRFC plays at the British School (BSB), Tervuren B-3080, with league matches on Sundays at the school Rugby grounds situated behind the Elephant statue, Bijlkensveldstraat. Training is on Tuesday evenings and Thursday evenings (20:00 - 21.30), at BSB main school astro-turf pitch, Tervuren. All levels of players (new, young, old and former players, both men and women) welcome.
